Allying with demons
Did you know that everyday Christians ally with demons without even knowing it? We ally with a spirit when we agree, support or defend it. Let’s say that we have a spirit of rebellion, but when somebody confronts us concerning our problem, we become defensive and start to attack them or make them feel bad for saying such a thing. That is a prime example of a person allying with a demon, and it will give that demon legal grounds to remain. If we have an eating disorder, yet become defensive anytime that a person points out how we are not eating healthy (example, “why don’t we stop and look at what YOU eat for a change??”), then we are defending our spirit of addiction and giving it legal permission to hang around. Be careful never to justify or defend a weakness or bondage in your life!
A key to avoiding this pitfall is to be open to constructive criticism (either from God or others) and be careful never to justify or defend a weakness or problem in our lives. If you are going to justify the bondage, then you aren’t really ready to receive deliverance in that area of your life.
