A stronghold is an incorrect thinking pattern or perception of something. Let’s say a person sees God as a cruel, distant and unloving taskmaster who is angry with them, when the exact opposite is true. That is a common stronghold. They see Him through a distorted pair of glasses, and as a result, are unable to feel close to Him. This type of thinking pattern serves as a wall or blockage that greatly hinders their intimacy with their heavenly Father. Many times, demons can utilize such strongholds to their advantage and bring about much mental torment upon that person.
