Are soul ties really Biblical?

May 1st, 2008

This is a good question that many today are asking. Let’s take a look at some scriptures to see what we can find:

1 Samuel 18:1 And it came to pass, when he had made an end of speaking unto Saul, that the soul of Jonathan was knit with the soul of David, and Jonathan loved him as his own soul.

Apparently, their souls were somehow ‘tied’ or ‘knit’ together. The word ‘knit’ in the above verse literally means to TIE or BIND together. Let’s look at some other passages:

Mark 10:8 And they twain shall be one flesh: so then they are no more twain, but one flesh.

In the above passage, Jesus is saying that when a husband and wife are joined by God, they become on flesh. Does that refer to a physical flesh? Of course not - any 5 year old will tell you that! No, it’s speaking of a soulish/fleshly joining.

To say that this is a physical joining, you would have to word it this way: “The two physical bodies are united and become one physical body.” Folks, it doesn’t take a 5-year old to tell you that such a thing never happens!

1 Corinthians 6:15-20 Know ye not that your bodies are the members of Christ? shall I then take the members of Christ, and make them the members of an harlot? God forbid. What? know ye not that he which is joined to an harlot is one body? for two, saith he, shall be one flesh. But he that is joined unto the Lord is one spirit. Flee fornication. Every sin that a man doeth is without the body; but he that committeth fornication sinneth against his own body. What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God’s.

In this passage, we can see that God has a problem with us “joining ourselves to a harlot.” Why would God have a problem with the “two becoming one flesh” if it were only a quick, fast and temporary thing? But no, God is concerned about an actual joining that takes place when we have sexual relations with somebody outside of marriage.

In the deliverance ministry, we meet cases where soul ties have devastated people’s lives. I worked with one young man that was being visited by demons as a result of having a soul tie with a witch, but when I led him to break the soul tie, the attacks stopped completely! Friend, this is a very real and heavy duty story of a young man who was physically visited by demons at night, where he would see the room turn jet black, blood red, and hear voices of dead people, bones breaking, and other very heavy duty visitations. It’s sad to see that witches understand soul ties better than us Christians, and they will use soul ties to pass curses on to others.

There are articles on this web site and also GreatBibleStudy.com that deal with soul ties, and how to break them. If you’ve ever had sex outside of marriage, then I recommend taking the steps to break yourself off from any ungodly soul ties that may have been formed.

What if Jesus appeared today in flesh?

April 15th, 2008

The Holy Ghost really illuminated this one to me today: what if Jesus came back today, not as in the rapture, but living in a human body as He did 2000 years ago? Would He be recognized as the Jesus that many today in America have come to know? Or would He shock everybody, when He goes about healing everybody who comes to Him? Would they call Him a false prophet and consider His miracles demonic, like many churches did with the Azusa Street Revival?

What if a man (Jesus) walked into many churches today, and began casting out demons in the services? How would most pastors handle such a person? Would they accept Him? Or would they throw Him out?

Mark 1:39, “And he preached in their synagogues throughout all Galilee, and cast out devils.”

How many churches today would throw Him out, because His doctrines didn’t fit into their theologies? Do you know that whenever you throw out a man of God who is preaching the truth in the Word, you are throwing out Jesus? Consider this passage:

Matthew 10:40, “He that receiveth you receiveth me, and he that receiveth me receiveth him that sent me.”

I encourage you to read my teaching on The Jesus of the Bible for more information on knowing the truth about Jesus Christ in a Biblically painted picture… it would probably shock many Christians in America today to realize the true nature and likeness of Jesus!

Want your spiritual eyesight darkened?

April 9th, 2008

Then just dishonor your parents. It will open you wide to demonic spirits to darken your spiritual eyesight. The Bible tells us clearly that it is the devil (who works through demonic spirits) who darkens the minds (or eyesight) of the non-believing:

2 Corinthians 4:4, “In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.”

Proverbs tells us that the man (or woman) who mocks or dispises his parents, the ravens of the valley (demons) will come and pluck out his eyes (or spiritual eyesight).

Proverbs 30:17, “The eye that mocketh at his father, and despiseth to obey his mother, the ravens of the valley shall pick it out, and the young eagles shall eat it.”

You can bet your last dollar that those are not physical birds that come along and eat their eyeballs… those are spiritual vultures sent to us from the enemy! Do vultures come along and eat the eyeballs out of the rebellious youth today? No. But does that make the word of God untrue? No, because the Word of God is speaking of spiritual things here, not physical.

Proverbs 20:20, “Whoso curseth his father or his mother, his lamp shall be put out in obscure darkness.”

These are some strong warnings that we find in the Word of God! I think God is trying to say something to us about how important it is to honor our parents, regardless if we agree with them or not.

Sex demons want to destroy your marriage!

April 8th, 2008

What’s so bad about having a sex demon, such as lust, if you are married and can indulge in your sexual fantasies anyways? Let’s not forget to true purpose that Satan and evil spirits are here to carry out:

The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.
John 10:10

The truth is that a spirit such as lust, hasn’t got your marriage sexual relationship in mind, but rather seeks to undermine your relationship with your spouse. They can actually make the sex that you have with your spouse, seem less appealing than it should, and will seek to get your attention off of your mate, and onto other people (women/men). The goal of such spirits is not to bring you sexual gratification, but to undermine your relationship with your mate that God has intended that you have with them. A sex demon can literally make your own wife look less appealing, while making other women more pleasing to your eye. Such a tactic is devastating to millions of marriages today!

One lady shared about how her dad had a bondage to pornography, but after going through deliverance, his love relationship with his own wife went through the roof! Another man had homosexual tendencies, but after receiving deliverance, he said that the sex which he has with his own wife now makes the other seem like it’s standing still!

In one deliverance, a spirit of succubus (a sexual demon which appears to men as a beautiful woman, and stimulates them sexually) confessed that his true intent in entering the man, was to kill him in one way or another. This sexually satisfying demon was going to end the man’s life!

These spirits are nothing to play around with. They carry the same goal as their leader, Satan, does. They are here to kill us, steal from us, and destroy our marriages and families.

Opera Winfrey is a new age cult leader?

April 1st, 2008

Beware, there is a new cult leader on the rise. Almost all of us have heard of her, but I need to point out a video that states the hard facts about the new age cult leader, Opera Winfrey. Click here to view a shocking video of this spiritual disaster that is hitting America.

What are some of the things she teaches?

  • Jesus is not the only way to God.
  • There are millions of ways to God.
  • We are saved by our own holiness.
  • There is no such thing as sin.

Don’t tell me these aren’t the end days!

Mark 13:22, “For false Christs and false prophets shall rise, and shall show signs and wonders, to seduce, if it were possible, even the elect.”

According to the video above, Opera Winfrey is leading millions of people into the world of demonic trances and getting them possessed with demons like flies. According to the Bible, this is a modern day false prophet and she is specifically involved in the new age cult movement. Beware!

Watch out for the peace symbol

March 26th, 2008

I have seen a major surge of usage of the peace symbol in recent years, and if we only knew what this meant, we should be outraged should any follower of Christ have anything to do with such a symbol!

There are two different symbols that I would like to bring to your attention:

Peace Symbol

Beware, these are dangerous Satanic symbols! They represent a lot more than just ‘peace’, but Satanism, hatred against Christianity, and anti-Christ at their very core.

Christians going to hell?

March 25th, 2008

Many today do not realize this, but it is very much possible for a person to accept Jesus, repent of their sins, goto church every week, and try to live a Godly life, and yet still go to hell. Why? Because their sins are not forgiven due to unforgiveness hidden in their heart against somebody!

There is a really good book entitled The Bait of Satan where he tells of somebody that has died, went to heaven, and looked over into hell only to see his mother-in-law. He ran to Jesus and exclaimed that she was a Godly woman who loved the Lord, and wanted to know why she was in hell. Jesus’ reply was that she held bitterness in her heart, and He couldn’t forgive her sins. This may sound far-fetched, but not for somebody who knows their Bible. Consider these stern passages:

Matthew 6:14-15, “For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you: But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.”

WOW! So does that mean that if we are unforgiving towards somebody else, that it leaves our own sins unforgiven? Yes, that’s exactly what Jesus said! Furthermore, the Bible tells us that if we love not our brother, that we abide in death.

1 John 3:14, “We know that we have passed from death unto life, because we love the brethren. He that loveth not his brother abideth in death.

Now if we are capable of not loving somebody, then we are obviously physically alive, therefore, this is clearly spiritual death that it’s speaking about here. If we hold unforgiveness in our heart against somebody, then we are abiding in spiritual death and our own sins stand before us.

What happens when a person dies without their sins being paid for, and are abiding in spiritual death?

If we are concerned about saving the lost, then we need to be equally motivated to warn God’s people of the importance of forgiving others who have offended them, lest they go to hell too!

Sent to preach, deliver, and heal

March 18th, 2008

Do you know that we are sent forth just as Jesus was, to carry out the same mission that He was carrying forth? That’s right!

John 20:21, “Then said Jesus to them again, Peace be unto you: as my Father hath sent me, even so send I you.”

So what was Jesus sent forth to do?

Luke 4:18-19, “The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised, To preach the acceptable year of the Lord.”

And what did Jesus do?

Acts 10:38, “How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him.”

So what did Jesus tell us to do?

Matthew 10:7-8, “And as ye go, preach, saying, The kingdom of heaven is at hand. Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out devils: freely ye have received, freely give.”

And what did Jesus say would follow those who believe?

John 14:12, “Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.”

Mark 16:17, “And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils…”

Is God is angry with you?

March 18th, 2008

This is a lie from the devil if I’ve ever seen one. I am convinced that it is rooted in the bondage of religion. If you read the accounts in the Bible, you’ll find that Jesus was loving, merciful, and quick to forgive towards those who turned to Him!

Just how deep is His mercy towards those who fear Him? As high as the heaven is above the earth!

Psalms 103:11 For as the heaven is high above the earth, so great is his mercy toward them that fear him.

Psalms 103:8 The LORD is merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and plenteous in mercy.

Psalms 145:8 The LORD is gracious, and full of compassion; slow to anger, and of great mercy.

I think Satan has been telling God’s children a flat-out lie about the nature of their heavenly Father!

Proof of a soul & spirit

March 11th, 2008

A lot of Christians think that we have a spirit (often called a soul) and a body, but nothing else. They do not understand that we indeed are a spirit which lives in a body, but also has a soul. Our soul is our mind, will and emotions. These things are not born again when a person accepts Christ, and can remain a dwelling place for unclean desires, weaknesses, and yes, unclean spirits. Now while the Bible does use the words spirit and soul interchangeably, it does make a clear distinction between the two:

Hebrews 4:12, “For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.”

We also find other passages in the Bible which discern a difference between our spirit and our soul:

1 Thessalonians 5:23, “And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.”

Now for some good stuff…

Did you know that if you accepted Jesus and you only had a spirit, then all your dirt and unclean desires, lustful thinking, bondages, weaknesses, addictions, etc. would go all at once, because the Bible says that we are a new creature if we are in Christ?

2 Corinthians 5:17, “Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.”

This is because your spirit man is born again the moment you accept Christ, all things become new and the old things pass away. However, our minds, wills and emotions (known as our soul) are not born again, but transformed as we renew our minds according to the Word of God, turn away from sinful ways, receive the healing touch of God in our lives, and receive deliverance from any unclean spirits that have taken residence in us.

This is why believers do not shed all their sinful, evil, and dark bondages (thoughts, weaknesses, struggles, etc.) the moment they accept Christ, and furthermore, this is why there may be deliverance needed from unclean spirits in a person’s life long after they’ve accepted Christ.
